What To Look For In Gas Grills For Under $300
A guest post by Andy Leeds
One of the most important things that you need for having a great grilling experience is one of the many good gas grills that you can find for sale. This may seem obvious, but if you donít have a good foundation than it wont matter what kind of meal you are preparing and an effective grill is something that will make or break your meal.
Unfortunately, like most things in life, you get what you pay for and you can easily spend over a thousand dollars for a really good gas grill, but it is still possible if you are on a budget to get something effective enough to get the job done for under $300. The key in having something good is to make sure that you are looking in the right place and for the right things. There are countless variations, brands and models out there and if you know what to look for in the various aspects you will be able to spend effectively.
One important thing you will need to look at is the type of body construction that the gas grills are made from. When taking a look at gas grills that are in the $300 range you will find that more often than not they are crafted from a variety of materials. Often they are made out of either steel or aluminum. Of the two steel is the most durable, but it is also more expensive. These type of gas grills will also come with wheels that are made from plastic rather than more expensive models that use rubber and are more effective.
Gas Grills at this price range will more than likely offer burners that are in a U shape or feature circular burners. They will have two to three burners and sometimes will have the option for an additional side burner. This isnít always a standard in this price range, but you can find them if you look around.
Another option is to have a cooking grate, or grid, which is a variation of the cooking surface and can come made from stainless steel or iron that has been covered in porcelain. It is good to know that a porcelain coating is a surface that can easily chip which will expose the metal and cause it to rust.
Next is the type of ignition that you can get, and for many of these types of gas grills you will find a push button style which will create a spark. You can get an electronic ignition, but these are seen in the more expensive models. You will also be working with approximately 350 to 400 inches of cooking space which is enough square area to cook for about four people. It is important to know that when the square inches are included in the marketing they are typically including the warmer area.
There are some really great grills that can still get the job done, even for under $300, and if you look for gas grills for sale you may be able to find something in that price range that is much bigger and better if you only take the time to look.
